Many people ask a price, get an answer and go quiet. A single friendly follow-up brings a good share of them back. Follow-ups are off by default. Follow-ups: Instagram's time limit (1) and the follow-up for people who didn't book (2) ## Instagram's 24-hour window (1) After a customer writes, the business can answer freely for 24 hours. After that, and for up to 7 days, only a person from the team can reply, and only with a reason. Follow-ups are always sent inside the 24 hours. ## The follow-ups | Follow-up | What it does | | - | - | | **People who asked but didn't book** (2) | Someone asks about prices or booking, gets an answer and goes quiet: one message some hours later | | **Alert before the window closes** | Your team is told before the 24 hours run out, so a person can still reply | | **Nudge unfinished questions** | Someone stops halfway through a question flow: one reminder that repeats the open question | Follow-ups are never sent to people who booked, left their details, are talking to a person or said no to messages.
