# Bring a friend

> Each customer gets a code to share. When a friend books, both are rewarded.

A referral programme that runs itself. Each customer gets their own code and link. When a friend books for the first time, the person who invited them is thanked and your team is told their reward is due.

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="A customer gets their code">
    They ask ("how can I invite a friend?"), or they're offered it after rating a visit 4 or 5.
  </Step>

  <Step title="They share the link">
    The link opens a chat with the business on Instagram (or the booking page) with the code already in it. A friend can also just type the code.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The friend books">
    The friend gets their reward (for example 10% off the first visit). The person who invited them is thanked in the chat, and your team gets an alert.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Give the reward (1)">
    Give the reward at their next visit and click **Reward given**.

Only new customers count, and nobody can use their own code.

## Set it up

Switch it on and write the two rewards in plain words:

* **For the friend:** "10% off your first visit"
* **For the person who invited them:** "a free hair treatment"

Keep **Invite after a good rating** on: customers who rate a visit 4 or 5 get their code and link straight away, and happy customers are the most likely to share.

  The **Who brings friends** table (2) shows your best ambassadors. Thank them personally, or tag them *VIP*.
