# Draft and publish

> Change the assistant without customers seeing half-finished work, and undo any change.

With **Draft and publish** on, the changes you save become a **draft**. Customers keep getting the last published version until you click **Publish**.

## When to use it

* Rewriting the knowledge base or the welcome message for a live client
* Building a new question flow over several days
* Changes the client must approve before they go out

It covers the assistant's settings, behaviour rules, question flows and comment campaigns. The playground always tests the draft, so you can try changes safely. The client's business settings (services, opening hours, the booking page, the shop, the portal) are saved straight away, because the client's other assistants use them too.

## How to use it

    Open **Draft & publish** and switch it on.

    Save as usual, and test in the playground.

    Review the list of changes and click **Publish**. Customers get the new version straight away.

## History: undo anything

Every change to an assistant's set-up is saved in **History**, with who made it and when. Quick edits by the same person within 10 minutes are kept as one version. Open any version to see what changed and bring it back in one click. For a client with several assistants, bringing back a version restores that assistant's own set-up and leaves the shared business settings as they are.
